The work you do in communities is of great value to young people, giving them a focus and interest that keeps them away from other less desirable activities. Not only that but it can help to nurture talents that would otherwise go undiscovered and thus help to build their self-esteem.

Brinnington Beats is a bit different and maybe seen to have more ‘street cred’ for some young people. Sometimes when a young person is going through difficult times because of situations at home, an activity such as ’Brinnington Beats’ can also be a great distraction for them that helps them to cope with things on an emotional level that they may be finding upsetting”

It’s really amazing being a part of this project. I got to develop my skills and increase my confidence.
