It Starts With The Music Returns To Stockport

Calling all 16-25-year-olds based in Stockport & Greater Manchester: On Saturday 8 November 2025, join us for the next edition of It Starts With The Music, a dynamic networking event designed to connect young creatives in the music industry with the people who make things happen.

The event will focus around an informal round table discussion, granting young people access to hear the career stories of young industry professionals working in different areas of the music industry, from the world of live music and events, to music production and DJing, to music journalism and radio presenting.

Industry guests include:

     

      • Amelia Fearon (music journalist and event host)

      • Charlie Cole (Pro. Session Musician – Robbie Williams, Lottery Winners, Corella, etc)

      • Hannah O’Gorman (Event Booker [Soup Kitchen], DJ and promoter of Nossa!)

      • DJ Roesh (BBC Introducing presenter and DJ)

      • Paige Martin (programming manager, Legends Global)

          • Age Range: 16-25 years old – from Stockport & Greater Manchester

          • Tickets: Free/limited allocation (make sure to register early!)

         

        What to Bring & How to Prepare

            • Come with a few questions you’d like to ask: “How do I get signed?”, “What should my first live gig strategy look like?”, “How do I promote my music as a young artist?”

            • Bring business cards or a contact method (Instagram handle, SoundCloud link, whatever you use) – networking is real.

            • Have a short intro prepared: your name, your sound/genre, and what you’re trying to achieve this year.

            • Be ready to listen, learn and connect. The event is about you stepping into the music-industry ecosystem.
